I recently received an email from Young Galaxy that began:
“We want to say what we want to say when and how we want to say it.
We own all Young Galaxy representations from this point onward, we are the generative source of all its emissions.”
They went on to explain that they have lost trust in the industry. The press run surrounding the duo’s last album, Falsework, left them “at a crossroads.” Their solution was to remove the industry from the equation, ensuring that at the very least, fans won’t need to put their faith into anyone that isn’t Young Galaxy. Take them or leave them: their new album, Down Time, drops tomorrow.
