Strolling along Santa Monica Boulevard and enjoying the drizzle of rain on the windshield, music from a talented trio of musicians provides some much-needed calm. Danny Frankel (Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, Bo Diddley), Victoria Williams (Lou Reed, Vic Chestnut), Doug Wieselman (Bill Frisell, Yoko Ono, Antony & The Johnsons) made a record recently that is under the Arthur King Presents label, titled Roofrack For Ralph; it is a series of simple, hollow improvisations with dense intentions to honor the memory of their friend, Ralph Carney.
