grayowlpoint: Nadia Pacey is creating hypnotizing, textured sounds as Konig on Puberty, a far smoother listen than the biological process itself. Lyrically she delves into the awkward and difficult experiences which can be found in such a life transition, marking herself as a musician with a quality strived for by many: strong listener connection. The colors in Sol’s new video for “Ain’t Gon’ Stop” feed into the joy of the horns and make you feel fuzzy. This has summery vibes that make me really want to follow it up with some Snoop. Continue reading
A Deep Sleep
Melancholy surrounds us. Artists tend to acknowledge it, perhaps address it in a new light, sometimes even fully embrace it. We Slept at Last is an album that does all of the above, though still not allowing it to ever drift completely into sadness. Marika Hackman isn’t new to the scene, but shows a mastery of skill on her debut full-length effort. We Slept at … Continue reading A Deep Sleep

It is a crime how little press Greatest Month has gotten thus far. As far as Pogo-esque bedroom producers go, Greatest Month is pretty tight. Yet most of the tracks on this Soundcloud have under 40 listens. I need everyone to band together to change that. #vivaGreatestMonth Source: SoundCloud / Greatest Month Continue reading

The contrast of the verses and the guitar progressions is stunning on “Makeshift, Rosetint,” truly selling me on Charlotte Crow’s brand of lo-fi psych. P.S. I love that this track costs $100. I assume that the reasoning for this has something to do with driving downloads of the EP, which is pay what you can, rather than downloads of singles. She had the option to just … Continue reading
lesmains-sales: “The battle is far from over. Even in the U.S., where certain people in the trans community – like Caitlin Jenner and Laverne Cox – are gaining prominence, they’re all people who’ve fully transitioned. We continue to disregard those whose identities remain more ambiguous, uncertain, or who refuse to make any kind of definitive statement.” Christine and the Queens for Nylon Continue reading
