The contrast of the verses and the guitar progressions is stunning on “Makeshift, Rosetint,” truly selling me on Charlotte Crow’s brand of lo-fi psych.
P.S. I love that this track costs $100. I assume that the reasoning for this has something to do with driving downloads of the EP, which is pay what you can, rather than downloads of singles. She had the option to just make it unavailable for download, but then she thought, ‘damn, how funny would it be if we made this track $100 and THEN SOMEONE BOUGHT IT.’
P.P.S. I wish I could follow through on this joke and say I bought it, but I didn’t. But someone not in immense amounts of debt totally should.
