Ian Chang – “醉罗汉 Drunken Fist”
It’s been three years since Ian Chang’s debut EP, Spiritual Leader—the perfect amount of time for the prolific drummer to hone his focus on other-worldly, experimental rhythms. Mr. Scruff’s DJ-Kicks compilation came out just a few weeks ago; give that a listen on Bandcamp. Source: Bandcamp Continue reading Mr. Scruff – “Nice Up the Function”
A Grape Dope – “Puppet Clubbing”

The newest single to come from Arthur King Presents, the experimental release series under the Dangerbird label, is by Tortoise-member-turned-left-field noisemaker, John Herndon aka A Grape Dope. “Puppet Clubbing” is a twisted ride with a consistent beat, made all the more compelling by the mostly-animated music video, made by Herndon himself. Continue reading A Grape Dope – “Puppet Clubbing”
