I used to think of Reservoir as a closed work. When Gordi inevitably puts out another fully formed LP, I imagine it will live in a related world, but her debut feels insular. Well, at least that’s how I felt before I listened to the EP of stripped down singles, titled Beneath the Reservoir. “Something Like This” is vast and another favorite, “Heaven I Know” feels like a different song entirely.
