Rare Monk had me in the palm of their sonic hand the very moment their driving, crunchy guitars kicked in on new song Warning Pulse, a first single from the Portland band’s upcoming self titled EP, out November 20th via B3SCI Records. Warning Pulse is a Manchester Orchestra, Silversun Pickups, and Ramona Falls treat doused in Northwest sentimentality. The quintet first met in college and have been touring for the past four years, with an EP and a double AA side single out. As their next EP’s release date approaches, Rare Monk will be touring the west coast with a stop right here in SF at Popscene. Guess who’s most likely going to be there?
