As the opening track of Georgie Sweet’s latest LP, I Swear To You, “The Ones We Loved” takes a deep inhale before unleashing a lethal groove. The layered a cappella harmonies are a siren song for me personally. I have an equivalent appreciation for the beats of the rest of the album, but this track doesn’t need any extra help, just a simple drum machine to anchor Sweet’s lofty vocal performance.
