Wanted to shine a spotlight on Benjamin Lazar Davis starting with his collaboration with Kimbra, “Right Direction.” It’s confident and purposeful, with just the right amount of melancholy. Another version of the track will appear on Kimbra’s forthcoming LP and I can see her building a bigger melody out of the shimmering keys that underscore the namesake lyrics, though we’ll have to wait until Primal Heart drops in just a few weeks to see.
