Úlfur Hansson is currently based in New York, but his music takes after his Nordic compatriots, such as Jónsi and Ólöf Arnalds. “Fovea” is the first single off of Úlfur’s new LP, Arborescence, named after the fractal-like possibility of random movement, which he specifies is “the phenomenon of branching out, following the path of least resistance, growing from a seed, or a bolt of lightning as it rips through the sky, connecting different outcomes, possibilities to a single point of origin.” Arborescence comes out this fall on figureight records.
