Nicholas Chim is an artist that I found when organizing my radio shows in college, and one that I have fortunately kept up with throughout the years. He just put out a new EP earlier this month (The Greatest Enemy), on which the single “Overboard” appears. The video for it tells a valuable story about a girl working to overcome her internal struggles. The beard is symbolic for her and also is a talking point for Chim himself, as a Chinese Singaporean that sports facial hair (which he explained to me is a fairly uncommon trend!).
