On top of fresh seasonal tunes and new heart warming covers, this time of year also brings us re-hashes of prior years’ holiday themed music. It’s a delight when this happens, because we get to re-visit some fantastic songs that often never see the light of day during the rest of the year. Los Angeles based psych pop singer songwriter Dent May dropped a video today for his song I’ll Be Stoned For Christmas, which may or may not be the proper song to play when you’re having Christmas dinner with the family, but we do live in a very different era these days. After all, it’s hard not to fall for the saccharine kaleidoscope of I’ll Be Stoned For Christmas, made up of whimsical lyrics and infectiously jangling hooks. The new music video for I’ll Be Stoned For Christmas premiered on High Times, of course. It follows a former Hollywoods It Girl named Cherry who visits her small hometown for the holidays and has to deal with the ordeal by getting stoned. Dent May is currently working on a new full length album while spending Christmas in Jackson, Mississippi. I’ll Be Stoned For Christmas is available on iTunes.
